Group Class Policy

By registering for lessons, you are agreeing to the terms of the following policy:

Philosophy

  • Prelude Piano Studio believes in a light-hearted, nurturing and non-competitive approach to teaching.  Our goal is to develop self-motivated and independent musicians able to continue learning and enjoying music throughout their lives.

Tuition

  • Tuition includes ten weekly 1-hour small group lessons.

  • Tuition must be paid in full at the beginning of each 9-week session.

  • Tuition is billed via email through My Music Staff.

  • Payment is due on or before the first lesson of each session. A late fee of $25 will be charged if payment is not received within one week of the due date.

  • Payment can be made by check, cash, PayPal, or Zelle.

  • Tuition is $360/session.

  • A $50 deposit is required to complete registration.

Missed Lessons

  • There will be no make-ups or credits for classes missed due to student cancellation.

  • In the case of teacher cancellation, a make-up week will be offered.

  • Advanced notice of cancellation is required.

  • Do not send students exhibiting signs of illness to lessons. They will be sent home.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Policy

  • All group classes are drop-off only

  •  Please park in the lot and walk student to door.

  • Please arrive on time. Classes will begin promptly at the scheduled time.

  • To ensure student safety, please pick-up students promptly after lessons. I am not available to supervise students beyond their designated class time. A fee of $25 will be charged for late pick-ups.

Inclement Weather Policy

  • In the case of inclement weather, an announcement will be made via email by as to whether the studio will be open or closed. If the studio must close, a make-up lesson will be offered.

Media Release

  • Photographs, videos, and audio recordings of student lessons and performances may be posted online to the studio website, studio Facebook page, or studio YouTube page. Identifying information will be excluded or be limited to first names only. Parents wishing to exempt their students from any published media may do so by providing a written exclusion request. 

Dismissal Policy

  • Failure to comply with the above polices will result in dismissal from the studio.

  • Reasons for termination of lessons may include, but are not limited to:

    • Failure to pay tuition in full

    • Repeated late payments

    • Repeated late arrivals or late pick-ups

    • Sending children exhibiting obvious symptoms of illness to lessons

    • Extended lack of progress and student disengagement

    • Inappropriate or destructive behavior
